CLASSROOM RULES AND EXPECTATIONS 1. Be Respectful Why? Every person deserves to be respected. It is unfair to disrespect a person for being different from you in thought, looks, or ability. When? You are to ALWAYS be respectful to others, including yourself, while in this classroom. 2. When an adult or peer is talking, remain at the proper conversation level of 0 until you are given permission to speak. Why? It is part of being respectful. Every person deserves to have their voice or opinion heard in a respectful manner. You may miss important information that can help you perform better by speaking over an adult or peer. It is also very important to follow this rule so that instructional time is not lost andthe learning environment is not interrupted. When? Everyday 3. Follow ALL directions the first time they are given. Why? Directions are given for a specific reason. They are important to your success in this class, school, and at home. When? Everyday 4. Come to class prepared with materials Why? It is your job, as a student, to come to class prepared and ready to learn. I will have a small supply of materials, on hand, for occasional incidents. However, if coming to class without materials(pen, pencil, folder, and paper) becomes a daily or weekly occurrence, disciplinary action may be taken. When? Everyday
